JTweet just stopped working yesterday

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

We've been using it for months and love it. Then, out of the blue, yesterday all of our jTweet feeds just stopped working. This is on multiple different websites that we operate. We didn't make any changes to any of the modules yesterday; but they just stopped showing anything.

Seems to me that this has to be related to the problems Twitter had yesterday; but Twitter is now showing their status as all good / green.

Anybody else having this issue? More importantly, anybody have any ideas as to how to fix it?

One of our websites involved is: www.readthecoverage.com

Thank you,

RTC

Guys,

I just checked four sites I manage that are using jTweet and all are showing current tweets. This is not to say that there is no a problem but it could be a 'regional' issue. We'll keep an eye on this and ask around to see if we anything surfaces. A post back will be made on what is found.

Just checked both your sites and I can see that the response from twitter is coming through. No errors but it is responding with an empty result set. No indication of what the possible problem might be. I'd say they're experiencing a few issues. Not everyone is having trouble though.

Cheers,
Jason.

Guys, I continue to adjust the settings to see if it's anything on our end. Here is what I have found....

Each of our jTweet modules had at least 2 (and usually 5-7) different twitter usernames that it was pulling a feed from.

If I drop that number down to one, it works properly, however as soon as I go up to two, it breaks again. I'm using a comma with no spaces.

Also, if I 86 all of the usernames and instead do a twitter query it works; but that's not what we need.

We need the feeds to work for multiple twitter usernames.

Any ideas?

Thanks

How many jTweet modules are you using?

Usually 2 per page. Jason D helped me get them both to work quite a while back by changing the name of the module id to something unique in each.

Now, the module returns nothing even if we only put 1 twitter username in to follow. Something is wrong.

Yeah, problem seems to be twitters search.

search.twitter.com/search?from=joomlabamboo

Not much we can do at the moment I'm afraid.

Cheers,
Jason.

Jason D, are you guys planning a workaround for this? Anything from Twitter yet about why they did this and when they might reopen the floodgates?

Thank you
