JFlickr and Group ID not working

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi there. Not sure if anyone can help?

I have installed and configured JFlickr, obtained my Flickr API, added in UserID and GroupID values and uploaded some images to both my Flickr User Photostream and also to my Group.

I use Joomla 3.2.3, Rockettheme's Paradigm template and also have JBLibrary installed.

When I set JFlickr to use my UserID my images all display perfectly but, when I choose the GroupID I get nothing, not even an error message. The images in the User Photostrem are the same images that are displayed for the Group so I'm sure it's not a Flickr permissions issue...although...I only added the images to Flickr a couple of days ago???

I've read all the posts on here that I can find and tried many things with no success...disabled Smart search, disabled all JQuery stuff apart from JBLibrary etc... but still no luck.

Any help though would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

Has any of the account been recently set up?
As sometimes there can be a delay

The account was setup around a week ago but, like I said, the main photostream images for the user account display fine. It's only when I swap to use the GroupID rather than the UserID that nothing gets displayed. :-(

The site is www.penryncameraclub.org.uk
I've added the JFlickr module to the Galleries page (at the bottom), currently displaying the UserID Photostream.

Many thanks for the speedy reply. :-)

Can you swap to the groupID so we can see it now working?

Actually sorry I misunderstood what you said :)

Have you tried another group just to rule out an issue with that one? Sometimes flickr can do some strange things.

Just stuck someone else's Group ID in and it works! I read somewhere about Flickr taking a while before they index the photos added to a Group??? Not sure if that has something to do with it? Maybe they don't display until Indexed?

Thanks for all your help. In 25 years of IT Management I've rarely come across such a helpful team. :-)

Found the answer!!!

The GroupID setting will ONLY display images posted to the Group by accounts other than the one that created the Group.

ie, if you create a Group and then add your own photostream images to that Group they will not display. Images added to the Group by other however will.
