JBLibrary & Mootools 1.2 conflict

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi guys

I'm using the latest copy of the InsideOut template pretty much as standard. I've installed a gallery called Showplus that uses mootools and requires the System - Mootools Upgrade plugin be enabled.

I can't get the gallery to appear unless jblibrary is unpublished and then I loose some of the template functionality.

I'm sure running jQuery & mootools 1.2 together isn't unusual so I'm wondering how I might resolve the conflict.

I've read running jquery in no-conflict mode might help but I'm unsure if this can be done through jblibrary somewhere ?

FYI - I'm running jblibrary 1.2.15

Hi there,

It sounds like your extension is also loading jQuery, as there shouldn't be any conflict with mootools. Have you got a link we can take a look at?

Hi Seth

Yup have a look at - 113.20.13.25/~kolora/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=151&Itemid=135 (still in early Dev)

The mootools gallery is called Showplus - hunyadi.info.hu/en/projects/showplus

It's gonna give me just the right layout that's req'd if I can get it working :-)

Hi Martin,

Yes, the showplus extension is throwing an error:

$("showplus_images_stories_fruit").getElement is not a function

You mentioned that the mootools upgrade is required, but I don't see mootools-more loading on your site, only the standard version.

Regarding the error, I think that is something you will have to take back to the developer of that extension, it looks like it is a problem with the way that extension calls functions.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Seth

Is there a way to "force" the mootools upgrade to load just to discount that option ?

Hey there,
You could try disabling the Mootools upgrade plpugin and instead use the replace mootools feature of the JB Library plugin.
It replaces it with the latest from Googles cdn.

That might help.

Cheers,
Jason.

Thanks Jason

That option didn't work, but what DID work was to ensure that the various plugin's (in Plugin Manager) were ordered correctly.

A lot of the system plugin's had an order of 0 and were arranged in the correct order. Once I changed the order of the various plug ins (mootools & jblibrary) to have a specific number, 8 & 9 respectively, then bingo :-)

Ensure you set the order of plug-ins correctly in the Plugin Manager to ensure they load in the right order.

1. Mootools Upgrade
2. JB Library
