Articles - Random display?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi there,
yesterday i found the 'captify Content module' and it is very good - exactly the kind of module i was looking for! Great work! :woohoo:

Now i have 1 question: is there a chance to show articles in random order?

=> I have about 100 articles and my setup is:
- showing 9 articles in 3 rows.
- Now the captify Content module shows always the same 9 articles ... :(

I think you get the idea. There is the parameter "Joomla! Ordering" - any suggestions for it?
Sorting by 'hits' is also no real solution, I guess..

Any idea? Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Sorry, random display of items is not currently possible with Captify.

However, you can do that with Zen Tools if you are using J2.5 and you can replicate the layouts that can be created with Captify. See here for more details: www.joomlabamboo.com/zentools/index.php

It's possible to use the random option with Zentools.

It should be possible with Captify as well actually.

Ive added this to our list and will have a fix either today or tomorrow.

Thanks Anthony

Hi again!
I am sorry to say that i do not get a 'random order' articles display to work :(
I saw that JB_mod_captifyContent_J1.5_J2.5_1.1.6 has now a parameter 'Random ordering' in the K2 settings... but i had no K2 installed.
So i installed K2, i imported all the articles and categories into K2 - but the display order still not changes (Pic2) .

The only thing that works is changing the ordering direction in 'Content Image Filtering Options' (PIc1).
It would be great if you could add the parameter 'random ordering' to the 'Content Image Filtering Options' instead of K2. If it is possible :)

I use Joomla 2.5.6 and I attached 2 pics for your information.

Thanks again!

Hi Anthony,
thanks for the 1.1.7 version. But i do not see any difference compared to v1.1.6/1.1.5 ...

I uninstalled K2 (i do not want to use it since it is buggy and slows down my site). Is Captify-Content-'random order display' only working with K2?

It would be great if you could add the parameter 'random ordering' to the >>> 'Content Image Filtering Options' <<< (instead into K2 settings).
If it is possible ... :)

Thank you again!

Hmm sorry about that.

I just reuploaded it.

Some issue with the svn build tool we use.

Let me know if that solves it.
