No images at all in Captify

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I'm probably making a very basic mistake, but I'm thought I followed all the instructions. Here's my site www.shannonlemaster.com. The module just displays its own name =(

Okay, I think I solved my own problem there...but now I have 3 more questions!

1. There are white margins on each side of the captify module, and the slider on the bottom has shifted to the right. How do I fix this?
2.Also, there is no template and no formatting on any of my subpages.
3.Also, when I click back "home" from some of these subpages, I come to a homepage where the formatting is completely gone again...what am I doing wrong?

again: www.shannonlemaster.com

Thanks!

Hi Shannon,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues. I tried to take a look, but your site is offline. Let us know when it is back again. Thanks.

Oh, right. Well, it's too crazy for me right now to have it online, so I'll send you some screenshots. If this doesn't work, I guess I could submit a ticket. I'll probably have some follow up questions anyway!

(I hope this works. These attachments work differently than I am used to...)
here's the frontpage:

Here's a subpage after clicking on a menu item:

If I click "home" from one of the broken links (not from the page above), I get this:

[attachment:2]C:\fakepath\frontpage no template.png[/attachment]
(it seems to have inserted another index.php in the address

Have you got the .htaccess file on your server? It is needed to properly rewrite the URLs (removing the index.php part).

If you have, you should check the configuration.php file, specifically the livesite variable. There should be nothing there.

you lost me at the livesite variable....I think I might submit a ticket. This seems like it might be over my head. If you could ask someone to take a look, that would be awesome.

Yep I think Seth is write. Try changing the global config to mod_rewrite in the site configuration and then rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess.

See if that works.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to do that. Is this from my Joomla admin site? I went to global configurations and then site. But I don't see anywhere to enter mod_rewrite. Or is this from my document root provided by my host?

I'm pretty sure I know how to rename files, so once I understand how to do step 1, I can probably do step 2.

Thanks

Yes, in the admin interface.

global configuration > site > use apache mod_rewrite > yes

Then FTP into your site root and rename the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess

It Worked!!!!

You guys are awesome =)

Oh...except that the slider is still shifted to the right on the frontpage. It's in the correct place on all the subpages though...

No, but it just stopped doing it mysteriously.... I'm not sure what did the trick - it may have been a slight adjustment in the pixel width of the captify images...but I'm not sure. If it happens again I'll go back to your solution and give it a try.

It is doing another weird thing though - there seems to be a very slight overlap from slide 1 to slide 2 so that a few pixels are visible from slide 2 when viewing slide 1 - you can see little white dots on the far right which correspond to lines of text in slide 2...

You might also notice that jTweet is posting double ... I was thinking of posting this on a jTweet forum...

Hi Shannon,

I don't see the dots that you are referring to at all. For the jTweet, it looks like you have 2 jTweet modules published there. Can you check in Module Manager?

Oh, I'm so sorry! I centralized the text on slide 2 to temporarily fix the problem. I just switched it back to left justified so that you can see. Also, I noticed that it disappears if you're zoomed in too much. Hopefully you can see it now.

I just checked my module manager and I'm pretty sure I have only one jTweet module published.

I fixed the double twitter problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the module. The dots are still there though.

Hi Shannon,

As I said, I don't see any dots. Can you post a screenshot perhaps, so we can see what you mean?
