.spacer...mind the gap

In several of your templates (in this case, motion) I wind up with a small white gap in the middle of the page; I always wind up disabling .spacer (by setting it to background:none). What does .spacer do, other than create a white line down the middle of the banner position?

Do you have a link I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to

Motion does have some design elements that could be it

no link as i've (once again) disable .spacer. I'm curious as to its purpose since I never notice a difference afterward (other than the white line is gone).

I think its a motion design element on the pic you attached

a white vertical hairline through an image strikes me as an odd design element. :)

I just can't tell what it does
.spacer {
  background: url(../../../images/spacer.png) repeat-y center 0;
  height: 50px;
  margin: 20px 0;
}
