T3 System Plugin Update

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Control Panel shows a plugin update

T3 System Plugin needs to be upgraded to 2.2.0

I do so and receive the following

Error

Invalid extension update

Three sites throw this error, all on different servers.

Try doing a manual update - with our releasing a fix version for J3.3 it seems to have affected the auto update

So it would be a case of downloading the file and then installing via the standard Joomla installer

Did that before I posted here ... figured better I tell you something you do know, than something you wished you'd known.

Can you advice on the version number?

T3 from Jomlabamboo gives 2.1.6 (via Base3 download page), the updater says 2.2.0.

Following on from the previous discussions I figure a gentle word in the Joomlart dev Team's ear would be a great use of your time.

Given the reach of the T3 system I shudder to think how many sites aren't up to date cos it's too time consuming to go the manual route. Hence the concept of the new update system.

My site is currently showing 6 updates, three for T3 Blank Template <update.joomlart.com/service/tracking/j16/t3_blank.xml > and 3 for T3 System Plugin <update.joomlart.com/service/tracking/j16/plg_system_t3.xml >. Not sure why the duplicates but anyway.

Selecting update for any of them gives ... Error Invalid extension update

I don't have time to conduct the manual bit so it doesn't happen

Thanks guys.

Sounds like you need to uninstall the T3 Blank Template via the extension manager > manage > chose template from filter

You may also want to clear the update cache as well

T3 wise still at the moment the update has to be done manually from the template download page - this will be resolved but not sure when

Thanks for the feedback

Hi Andrew,

I believe this might have happened because we released a quick fix for something before the official T3 release. Do you recall installing an update that said suggested it was a fix?

Keen as you are to find out why this happened.
Thanks

Hi Anthony I did a manual update to install T3 Framework Plugin 2.2.1 when the last update alert came through. Did the same for the previous two. Found them in the download folder (needs a clean out by the looks)

Having just typed that I recollect there was some issues which were resolved with a fix. Not 100% but I do remember that.

Paul I take it that this is the T3 download link - github.com/t3framework/t3/releases/tag/v2.3.0 ?

Just to chip in:

I have the same messages.

Should we always download the Plugin from JBs download site?

Could you then change the updater to take you as a source?
People always get nervous when the see the failing update message.

Thanks a lot and keep up the great work

I'd suggest updating from the JB download page

At the moment there does appear to be a glitch both with the updater and also with the latest T3 plugin version itself
