Image Upload

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,
I am working on the Ignite template.

Do the images need to be uploaded at specific sizes for specific uses - header, products, banner, etc or is there function for them to auto resize once up?

I loaded a png of my logo and it has come up massive!

If they have to be a specific size do you have those specs listed anywhere?

Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

With images there isn't a specific size for any element really
Although with a logo I would look to size the image as you want it to display

You can resize images when using zentools

However if images are way too big it will impose an impact on the speed of the site

Images shouldn't be any bigger than 100k ish in file size

Cheers

Thanks Paul.

Does Zentools adjustment work from the media manager?

No the Zentools module works on the content added to it

I'd check out the Joomla Extensions Directory to see if there is anything there that might do that

And Yes - also thinking about it

You can load directories of content into the module which are resized according to the settings e.g. you want a gallery of images in a lightbox

You can resize the thumbnail and the lightbox

But outside of the module as in general article content then no it doesn't

I also tried to upload and install the Zentools and JB Library which I just downloaded and I get the following message:

Warning:
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

What are the name of the files you are trying to install?
and what version of Joomla are you installing them into?

The files are the .zip for Zentools and JB Library. The version of Joomla is the one that comes with the Inspire quick start .zip

Hi

I'm trying to work out if you are trying to install incompatible versions of the extension to the Joomla 3 install

Can you paste the filenames of the zip files?

Thanks

JB_pkg_jblibrary_J1.5_2.1.4.zip and tpl_zenkit_K2_v1.0.5.zip from your site.

I'm not too concerned now as I'm struggling getting my head around some other issues.

I will post in separate forum question. Thanks for your prompt and helpful response.

With JB library

You are trying to install a Joomla 1.5 version into a Joomla 3 so it won't install

Also you shouldn't need JBlibrary installed with the Ignite Template

With Zenkit the file needs to be the 2.5/3 version called

JB_zenkit_J2.5_J3.1_2.1

With Zenkit being a series of k2 templates you need k2 installed first
