Struggling with inspire template

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi - I'm struggling a bit with the inspire template.
URL 109.123.108.118/~s9lavrgr/
I'm afraid I will have lots of questions.
Fsirst, Top1 position (now the logo) works differently on the default template, to the home template.
Also, when I used the use image setting for the logo, both templates worked differently as well
Anyone know how can I get them to be consistent?
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,

You need to make sure both template styles are the same for the logo area

check out this article

Hi Paul - thanks for getting back to me.
I've had a look at your instructions, but I'm not sure this is the problem here, unless I'm missing something.
In normal mode top1 and top2 are both set to 6 in home and default templates.
The logo is appearing at only about half size on the home page, and at the correct size on all the others.
Thanks again
Ian

Nothing :)

Just refreshed the screen and both look the same size e.g. both larger

Do you have any caching enabled?

Cheers

Hi Paul - I've been emptying the cache in Safari, but it's stayed the same.
Now quit, reopened, disable caches and went back to the site but still no change.
I'll have to look up how to disable caches in Chrome, and see what happens.
Thanks

Hmm. I'm going to have to reboot the Mac and boot up the PC :-(
Thanks for taking the time to send the screenshots.
Just another Friday afternoon. Perhaps it's me I should reboot :-)
I'll let you know what happens...
Thanks again for your help,
Ian

Hi Paul - I think it may be a browser problem.
I booted up the PC - which has never visited this site before - and had a look in Explorer. Fine!
Tried Firefox, and the same problem - half size logo.
Same with Chrome.
It seems it only looks right in Explorer…
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Paul. Sorry this one is dragging on.
Just tried on my wife's mac - which has never ever been to this site before, and the problem is still there.
Is there a cache in the router. If so, any idea how I can clear it?
Thanks

Hi Ian,

Paste the links for the individual pages - one that has the small logo and the other the large

There's been something funny about this from the start. Initially I was using the template's default logo position, but again it behaved unexpectedly on the home page, and as expected on the general template.
I moved to the top positions to try to overcome this - so far without any joy.
It's probably user error somewhere down the line :-)
Thanks for getting back to me Paul…

The administrator has disabled public write access.
The inspire template has two template styles set up so changes to logo would have to been made to both template styles - that might explain the initial problem

However I still see both pages looking the same - with span6 for the top1 position and it occupying half the template width

Hi Paul - thanks for this.
Do the logos look the same in all browsers? It's only Explorer that looks right for me.
Thinking of the refresh issue, the logo has never changed in size, It has always been the one file for both templates. I've even tried putting inline size controls for the homepage template module, but it makes no difference.
Also, yesterday I set an opaque value of 0.9 on the logo, and both templates are reflecting this fine.
And I have the same problem from two macs and a pc I'm using here.
Without knowing how the cache actually works, this leaves me feeling really puzzled :-(
You didn't answer my question about routers. Could there be a cache in the router which is affecting this?
Although, as the logo has always been the same size, I can't think how this would affect things anyway.
I've disabled cache, rebooted my mac and the router, cleared the cache on everything and the problem persists.
I've hardly done anything to this site which I can't quickly re-create, so I'm wondering if my next move should be to bin the whole site and database completely, and start again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks again for your time on this,
Ian
