I need some opinions about my background color, it's maybe a little bit to dark. Or what do you think?

For example, perhaps dark blue? I need a color wich is in association with australia.

That is nice work really. Good pictures. They seem to be quite processed and the site helps them to stand out. If were to add colors to it maybe something textured and at the top. Australian colors are of course green and gold, or sea blue or red brown. Red brown cracked earth would make a good background at the top.
I'm sure there are better eyes out there with more credible suggestions so speak up

I agree, that can work but you'll need to process the image a bit and make sure it isn't too overpowering in size or color.

I changed the background image now to a much nicer picture. You can't see the full image, but this is desired. At the moment, it isn't the best one (not sharp enough), but it's just an idea...I kept the background color in black, the black color gives a good contrast...or what do you think?

If I install K2, I don't get major problems within the template?

Sketch doesn't come with a K2 theme, but K2 would work fine. The issue would be you would need to style the default K2 template to suit your needs. If you are doing just fine without K2, there would be little reason to change to it. I'm a fan of using the default features as much as possible.

I would like to have the content_bg just 146px down, that i don't have the content_bg as a background for the header_bg.

I tried some things, but it didn't work. Do i have to rewrite some css parts?
