So... let me get this straight as I am starting out with Joomla 2.5.1, not upgrading.
Can I still upload Zen Framework 1.5/1.7 to my Joomla 2.5.1?

Thanks for your response.

Hi,

You can actually just use the current version of the framework that is available from the framework download page or the template download page.

Thanks Anthony - one more question:

Since I am not installing the quickstart and I am installing on Joomla 2.5.1 which of the following extenions from the following Instal list (BELOW) do I need to install - or do I need to install all of them? (Associated Joomla 1.5 Extentions and Associated 2.5 Extentions - I was not sure if some in the 2.5 list are replacing those in the 1.5 list or if they need to all be installed.) THANKS

It depends on what functionality you need. If you are trying to recreate the demo site the documentation for the template will tell you which extensions you need to use to do that:

Hi,

I have Joomla 2.5.4 installed, and am using the Responsive template. Installed the two versions that are available from the Responsive download page (zengrid 2.2.9 and responsive 2.2.3). This is a new install, but for whatever it's worth, I cleared the cache under Site >> Maintenance, under Extensions >> Manage Extensions and browser cache (Firefox).

My problem: The template config options are not working, and the top of the page seems to be cut off. For instance, I can't see the page titles, and I assume I also can't see choices for saving.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out...

Hmm thats quite odd.

Can you try turning on error reporting in the site's global config to see if there is a php error on the page?

Hi there,

Are you using the standard joomla admin template 'Hathor', or are you using another admin template?

Turn on your Firebug and pull it down - then you can access some of the top features. But you will need to get to the bottom of it. ;)

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. In answer:

When I turn on error reporting under Site Config., I get a 500 error for all templates installed, with the following:

JAdministrator->dispatch() /administrator/index.php:46
JError::raiseError() /administrator/includes/application.php:164
JError::raise() /libraries/joomla/error/error.php:251

(Is this useful to you all?)

I am using Hathor for the Admin template, and after I went back and did some debugging, I also realized I could get at the save and other buttons through Firebug (thanks Helen). I can see a couple of typos in the zentabs.css file, particularly one on line 379.

I thought I'd go in and see if I could fix the problem, however I am not able to write to the folder where it resides to try and fix it. Not sure if that's my server admin or is this folder locked down on purpose?

Thanks again, everyone, I really appreciate the insights.

What browser are you using? Is it up to date?

Have you tried another browser?

It sounds like you have some hosting issues if folders are un-writeable.

500 errors are server related but don't give any useful information about the problem, it's a blank refusal to give any information at all.

If you could fill in a ticket we can look into it further.

Regards,

Rob

Also do you get the same issue when using Blue Stork?

Seems like the same problem I had with Hathor and Epicure... We resolved the problem (can't tell you how as my subscription hasn't renewed thru PayPal yet) here: www.joomlabamboo.com/forum/epicure/71083-no-access-to-save-edited-theme-from-admin-panel

You're still my hero, Anthony! :cheer:

So was the template editor/Hathor problem ever resolved for edendesign? I'm always interested in other work-arounds for such issues and you all were brilliant at fixing my related challenge.

Thanks,

~ Lisa
