When deciding how to deploy your site you have two basic options.We offer the convenience of a quick start package or the simplicity of individual template zips.

 

The Quick Start packages are complete Joomla installations and are aimed at helping you to install the demo site and content from Joomla Bamboo onto your server in no time. They include all modules and components used on the demo site and are usually setup in an easy 5 steps - depending on your server setup.

 

The template packages contain the files required to install the template  only on an existing Joomla installation. The template download area contains the modules and components as advertised on the template information page but you are required to install the modules separately.

 

The quickstart packages are the best way to get running the fastest on new installations while installing the template only is recommended for existing sites.

 

Can you use the Quick Start package on an existing site?

It is not possible and not really necessary to use the quick start package on an existing site. You do have the option of populating your existing site using the database that comes with the quickstart package but if you have made any significant changes to to your site than this may not be the best way to go either and its possible that you may overwrite data that has been stored on your site previously - using the demo content .sql from a quickstart will overwrite your existing content. 

 

If you are experienced with the use of phpmyadmin you can select specific tables from the database and apply them to the existing site database - but this is advised only for advanced users and we implore you to back up your database at the very start. We will produc a tutorial on using phpmyadmin to achieve this soon.
