Background overlay refuses to go in Backgrounder

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I've tried everything to remove the overlay effect in the Grid 2 Row settings, without success.
See just below the slideshow, here: alpinecider.com.au/ .

In Developer tools I can see that there is a background colour assigned, even though I have removed any mention of a colour in the template settings.

#grid2wrap {
background-color: rgba(33,50,59,0.6);
position: relative;
color: #606c76;
border-width: 0 0 0 0;
border-color: #eee;
border-style: solid;
}

I don't want or need any overlay effects at all on this site. The overlay effects seems to create a distracting pause as pages load (a fraction of a second as the overlay comes and goes).

So, a couple of questions:
How do I remove the overlay for Grid Row 2 on the Home page, and
How do I disable the overlay transparency effects for the whole site (except for the menu) so they load without that distracting and ugly pause.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Hi Nick,

I can't see an overlay here on the home page

I see

#grid2wrap {
position: relative;
color: #606c76;
border-width: 0 0 0 0;
border-color: #eee;
border-style: solid;
}

Thanks Paul,
I fell into the browser cache trap. Meaning I forgot to force a page refresh each time I made a change.
Refreshed page (after your response), issue gone.
Thanks.

On a similar issue: the background image - rather than using one large image (about 100kb) controlled by Zentools2, is it possible to have a smaller, repeating image?
I note you can do it for rows in the template settings, but can you do it for the whole page?
If you could, it would certainly speedup page loading time.

Everybody forgets the browser cache - especially with some hosts
I still do all the time

Hi Nick,

I just checked and this option isn't available via the template settings

Background colour is the only option available unfortunately

Do you need help with the css for adding it via custom css?

I never considered that as an option. Some of the pages could look better with patterned background, so, yes, if you are happy to help, I'd be happy to implement and learn.

Not sure if you have a background but this is a decent site if you don't have anything in mind

Thanks Paul,
The client has a number of patterned backgrounds that they provided. They are full-page, which made them quite big files. I tried reducing the file size so they would load faster, but the client did not like the look of them (too low rez).
That is why I thought I would cut out a small piece of the repeating pattern, and reproduce it as a background that way.

Here is a thought. The pattern from the client is the same one, just on different coloured backgrounds. If I could get the png or gif file of only the pattern (no background), could I repeat that pattern over the existing coloured background in the template? Like a layer over the top of the coloured background.
I may be dreaming that this is even possible.

Yes I think that would be possible

The problem you may have is making sure the seam of the images is clean - e.g. the image can repeat without being misaligned

I'm rubbish at this myself
