This one gets every use of Joomla :)

"On my current layout, when I click a link on a blog post title, it does not take me to the actual article, but just refreshes to the same page. Any thoughts...?"

Joomla works using menu links if a site tries to load content that doesn't have a menu link odd things happen - commonly this reloads the home page with a different url and the page content down the page

Solution

Create a menu and add links that the module is loading e.g. category blog links or article links

Most users create a menu specifically for this called "hidden"

The menu just needs to exist on the system and doesn't need to actually display on the site

Now that you mention it, I've addressed this issue successfully before. Ugh... I really do love web design, but I'm just not very good at it.

Again, your patience and help is much appreciated.

Hi Paul,

I feel like things are slowly coming together thanks to you help. I was wondering if it was possible to add a shadow to my menu dropdown backgrounds?

And, also... Can I bring the dropdown closer to the menu item? It seems very far away

Hi Doug

For the first one - something like

.zen-menu.zen-menu-horizontal ul ul {box-shadow: 0 8px 6px -6px #ccc;}

For the second try adding

.zen-nav-fixed #menu, .zen-menu-right {margin-top:3em;}

Are you familiar with how to add custom css to your template?

These suggestions were great and enough to get what I wanted. Thank you, again!

Hi Paul,

I'm having some small issues that I don't know how to resolve.

First, when a menu item is selected and then the user scrolls up and the menu collapses, the selected menu item goes white and disappears. (See screenshots)

Second, my Offcanvas menu is not showing submenus and I don't know how to activate that. I've looked around, but from what I can tell it's connected to the Main Menu and should follow its settings. Any thoughts...?

Thank you very much, in advance. - Doug

And, one more thing... I would like to move the submenu box a little to the left. It is cutting off my the menu text. Any thoughts?

Hi Doug,

With the off canvas menu - is the accordion menu option enabled?

With the link are you referring to the active state of the link?

As this is currently #fff e.g. white

So it means the link looks like it has disappeared

With the menu link going off page

I would personally not have a login page on the main menu

I'd add it to a footer as for the average user this link doesn't need to be there

Yes, exactly. It only does that while the menu bar is collapsed with scrolling up. In the down position it shows up yellow, which is what I have Active Link Color set to.
