Where is the value for the on hover dark blue color in my search fields coming from?

I was trying to create a bit more padding to the right of the search field in the main area but not increase the amount of padding to the right of the search or bottom6 positions.

When I increase the em number then all three are increased. So, that is why I thought that maybe I should not make this change to anything but the main area and use a higher number.

main #search-form input {}

Only applies to a search in the main area so it should not apply to the search or bottom position
