Extension conflict with Buildr?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello Friends,
Here is a little buggy problem, and it may be outside the purview here, but I have narrowed it down to something not jiving with the template.

trcmarin.org/services/trainings

The calendar (DPCalendar) works fine in all browsers except Firefox, where it jumps the screen on hover when it should just have a pop up.

It doesn't happen if I use protostar as the template as here
www.trcmarin.org/calendar-testing#year=2016&month=9&day=18&view=month

If you have a suggestion on fixing this, I'd love to hear it. Just think it's worth asking you guys, I understand if it's not in the roundhouse.

Thanks

Hi

I'm struggling to see any difference - what do I need to click to see the problem?

I'm a bit unclear what this means

"it jumps the screen on hover when it should just have a pop up."

Cheers

Sorry for being unclear. You have to be in Firefox and be on a calendar page that is the Buildr calendar - I created a test calendar using Protostar.

When you hover the mouse on an event, the screen jumps around. In other browsers, when you hover on an event, a popup opens and when you click on the event, it takes you to the event page.
trcmarin.org/services/trainings

Again, it doesn't happen on the Protostar calendar, and it doesn't happen in Safari or Chrome. Just Firefox.

Hi again,

Sorry I don't think I'm getting it

I'm opening the link in firefox - trcmarin.org/services/trainings

Then I'm hovering over one of the dates in the calendar on the right

I get below - which is the same as Chrome

calendar.jpg

What am I doing wrong?

The screen doesn't jump at all when you first hover? It's still doing it for me. I'll attach a video of it.

Oops, couldn't attach video. I'll upload and provide a link to it

Sheesh, it stopped doing it all of a sudden, so I suppose no worries here. Thanks for listening!

Not so fast, sigh...

This is still very much an issue. Here is the link of the calendar using Protostar
www.trcmarin.org/calendar-testing#year=2016&month=9&day=21&view=month

It works fine.

Here is the link for the calendar in Buildr
www.trcmarin.org/calendar-testing#year=2016&month=9&day=21&view=month

When you scroll down the Buildr page a bit and THEN hover the mouse, the screen jumps all over the place. It is the same for the mini calendar module here
www.trcmarin.org/services/trainings

If you don't scroll down a bit before hovering, it works fine. After you have scrolled down, it jumps - in all browsers.

So here is my question: do you know of something in the template that could be causing this? I imagine it is a conflict with Bootstrap? If so, any suggestions? I am also continuing to reach out to DP Calendar, but they have pretty much washed their hands of me, announcing it as a template thing.

My big problem is the client is extremely attached to dpcalendar's look. I used another calendar extension that didn't have problems, but they want this one, which means I have to make it work.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Have you tried commenting out all the custom css code to see if that is a factor?

I'm a bit hamstrung as I can't reproduce the jumping - i think as I'm on a big screen this may be the reason why

I don't think it is a JB problem.

I have found that my custom css for a specific module div I created for the home page, .homegrid has wonked out the calendar css, in that in my little animation thing on hover, transitioning the color to #ffffff !important also changed the color of the month name on calendar to white that disappears on the white background! My work-around was just to change the color to green for all, since I couldn't get dpcalendar css in custom to take. It just insists on being controlled by the .gridhome div! I even further specified by giving the #grid1,2,3 .gridhome id's in the custom css, but it is still picked up by dpcalendar.

I'd give up on it, but my client is extremely attached to the look of dpcalendar. I'm stumped.

I don't really think it is a Buildr thing, but a dpcalendar problem with Bootstrap. Thought it was worth seeing if you know of anything has caused anything similar in other templates. And, I also have dpcalendar installed on a Rasa2 site and it does the same thing. So not Buildr specific after all.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Right so to confirm the custom css isn't the problem with the jumping?

Developer came up with this link

compojoom.com/support/support-tickets/hotspots/3716-strange-look-using-new-joomla-template

I added this to my custom css file

body {
height: auto;
}

It worked, the screen jump went away. Just thought this was useful information in case anybody else has the same issue.
