I just created a fresh install of Joomla here: pinatel721.com/krew/

I installed Buildr, Zengrid framework, zenmenu, zenshort codes, jbmaps, zentools 2 -- but the template manager won't keep my settings. Each time I choose a layout and save it, all the module positions disappear. When I go back in they're empty. see attached screen shots.

I tried reinstalling Buildr. No change.

It must be something simple that I did wrong.

Hi Joanne,

What php version is running on the server for the site?

Are you running any security extensions?

Do you see any errors in the browser web console when saving?

Hi Paul,

It was php 5.3 (for some strange reason!). I changed it to 5.6 and things seems to be working now.

I knew it would be something I missed.

ah yes

That was the problem - I only came across this myself this week

With 5.3 it can't write to the json files so the file has a size of zero bytes e.g. no layout

For any site using buildr it needs 5.4+
