Hello, I have been trying rather unsuccessfully to install the quick start version of ascent2.

I have installed the quick start package 2 times now deleting everything and starting from scratch the 2nd time. Both times after completing the process as described in the documentation after deleting the installation folder the site displays only this error;

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_strlen() in E:\kunden\homepages\27\d181844907\www\IMD\modules\mod_zentools2\includes\zentools2helper.php on line 443

Any insight into this issue would be extremely welcome =)

You need to install the php-mbstring library on the server

It handles image resizing

A host should definitely be able to enable this library for you if on a live host

I'm assuming you are on a local host?

Not local. Its live host on a windows server. A first for me that combined with my limited Joomla knowledge is proving frustrating.

It would be needed for different Content Management Systems it's not specific to a particular platform

Thank you for your help and patience paulus. Turned out my host would not allow me to enable a PHP extension like that and I ended up switching everything over to a linux server.

I am up and running now....well walking maybe, but moving none the less =)
