Teaser Blocks Link to the wrong page in Zentools2 Grid Module

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Dear Paul et al.

I am making more progress with the Medica template. Thank you for your help.

On this page:

oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php

How would I make the CYTO2018 Prague block (in the instance of the Zentools2 module displaying items in a grid published to the grid1 position just below the main slideshow) LINK TO:

MEETINGS/EVENTS>CYTO PRAGUE 2018 page
located here:

oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php/meetings-events/cyto-prague-2018

Instead, all of those links (5) block images links take you to another page which I did not make.

(for instance)
oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php/joomla/category-blog/23-samantha-cook

which I do not know how to access to edit it anyway.

I have been referring to the documentation for the Medica Template and especially the part about this module

docs.joomlabamboo.com/joomla-template/medica-documentation/display/front-page/three-blocks, however the “Joomla menu item issue” link does not go anywhere..

thanks you again.

Hi Elizabeth,

Am I right that you edited the content that came with the quickstart?

Cheers

Ok this sounds like you have aliases that refer to old content - check categories and articles to see if you have correct aliases for category and articles as they are named now

To remove an alias delete the alias field and it will re-populate automatically on save

OK Thank You Paul,

Teasers are on the home page:

oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php

So I made a new category and assigned all the article (with teaser images in them) to that category. Took out all of the aliases to the articles (and they did repopulate) But now when I click on each teaser it just takes me to the home page

oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php/30-teasers/25-cyto-asia

with the teaser in the content area. I would like it if after you click on the CYTO Asia teaser for the link to go to this page with a custom banner for CYTO Asia:

oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php/meetings-events/cyto-asia

I even tried putting the correct url

(oasiswebdevelopment.com/Medica/index.php/meetings-events/cyto-asia) in the link field next the the image field in the article. That did not work either. There must be another way.. NO?

Thanks again for your help.

I FIGURED IT OUT BY MYSELF!!!!!

Please ignore my last query.. I just realized that what I had to do is choose manual link inside the Zen2 module and then provide the correct link in the new field that opened up.. no need to answer my last query.

Thank you!

Hi Elizabeth,

If a module reloads the home page 9 times out of 10 this means the item id problem

You need a menu link pointing to the content it can be a category link or individual article

Do you have that?

I think we have talked about this before - a hidden menu is the easiest way of managing links like this

A menu enabled on the system, published but not displaying in the site

Rule of thumb >

If you want to load internal website content from a module always have a menu link for it

I will always create a menu called hidden and add menu links to it
e.g. always a search results page on there - so it can link to a search module

hidden is never published to a menu position but is always enabled in the backend with the links in it always published
