Creating Zentools 2 article layout similar to Aussie template on Corporation or other template

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Paul agree with your points. I would just look for 3 very specific and defined layout types. I can note down the setting that have been applied for these in the module,(i.e. boxed, equal height, etc).

I can then just keep the specific css parameters for those 3 layouts ready to go "in my back pocket" for when I need them. In those cases I can place the module and put the css into less.

I am not looking for a large number of customisations it is mostly for the boxed form, and to set parameters.

The main thing i need is to know it can work when I need it. The more I use those favourite looks the better I will get at them.

I really like your design choices. Practically speaking for building sites, it will be good for me to keep to a limited set of layout options that work for my design style.

I get mixed up with all the parameters anyway when I start playing around with everything and my design process grinds to a halt. Not good for me, or my future use of Zentools.

Hi Stephen,

Was thinking about this while in the bath

Styling I'd suggest would involve me using using buildr and recreating the styles - if you used another template provider the styling suggestions would be moot

Just wanted to check

Hi Paul,

Glad the bath is giving the inspirations:0)

While it could be useful for me to format in conjunction with styles in the buildr framework. I really want to be able to load to a neutral template like prostar. I am moving away from back end frameworks. I get confused between what is set with styles in buildr, the template and what is coming through the zentools2 itself.

I would suggest that you create a packaged way for zentools2 to load as a module into an article using . I think this would open up massive opportunities for your product.

best... Stephen

sorry I really meant to get round this

Not using a framework can speed things up if you have a self built template package to fall back on but any problems with the code and it is a problem

I can see your point regarding styling to some extent but there is always going to be styling needed

Apologies again for not getting back to you

Not quite sure what you mean here though

"I would suggest that you create a packaged way for zentools2 to load as a module into an article using . "

Bit missing?

Whoops sorry about that. I was thinking about the {Modules Anywhere} plugin from Regular Labs, which I could use to put Zentools2 in different content areas.

I'm not really a user of modules anywhere as I've never really needed to use it. Can you elaborate a little?

There is the styling as per the documentation site although you may need access to the fontawesome cdn / fontawesome icon files.

The big problem would be if you wanted to use the styling as per the examples above as there use template html hooks to hang the css on

Hi Paul, I would like to have use my hour of developer time to see what could be possible with the ZenTools2 in different contexts. Do you have any developments happening with new templates or Zentools2?
