Extra fields are a key part to expanding K2's functionality.

It would be handy if extra fields could be displayed in K2 layouts using ZenTools2. This is difficult however as the default in K2 is to just display them as a block of values.

A template override would be a better method of doing this.

If possible, you could look to use the K2 Category template settings to load a category_item.php file in a lightbox window.

This may be difficult to do, but thought it would be something to put forward to see if others might be interested in having it developed.

In the meanwhile I need to go back to using a standard category display menu item and load the content using a k2 menu item.

It most likely will give me another avenue to investigate for doing the same sort of thing - so if you're going to put that functionality in to Zentools2, I'm keen to see more and test it for you.
