I'm attempting to make an area on the front page of my Responsive2 site that closely resembles the "More of our work" area on the demo for the same template.

Could you please point me to the documentation (or whatever else I need to know) that would walk me through this?

Ideally, I'd like it to fill with the articles from a specific category.

Ideally, they need orange backgrounds, but individually rather than as a bar.

I feel at a complete loss as to how to find anything in the documentation. I'm sorry to keep bugging you. Could you give me a hint?

It is a zentools module

Your front page is a joomla featured blog layout

Are you still wanting to create the zentools layout? (as per the pic attached)

It's not really a category blog (I think). You were just there as I was messing with it.

Yes, I want it like the example, but with separate orange backgrounds.

I also want my text color to flow through, but it is not doing that. And I want the huge text to be quite a bit smaller (probably by half).

And I may even be pressured (against my better judgement) to need a gradient frame around the whole thing.

I'm grateful that you're here, but I feel like an imbecile. I've been working in Joomla on and off for over ten years, and I can't do anything without floundering for hours . . . Your templates are beautiful and swift, but I have several sites to build and I need to learn how to use them.

I also need smaller fonts (in the large font places), preferably in my font color, which I've indicated in the template specs, but which is not showing up.

I'm assuming you want to use zentools v2 module as this is a newer version

You can do this with zentools v1 but all our recent templates use zentools v2

Before the module is set up

You need 3 articles with images included together with intro text

I should mention that are different ways to do this using zentools2 - lots of different ways

This is the grid layout

It is using the Joomla source

In the item layout (this is a drag and drop section)

So you would drag across the

image
title
introtext

Each drag and drop element has options you need to configure

The link type is the most important option = it needs to be set to content to load an article

Title also needs to be set as content - you can add the heading tag as needed

the demo has the strong tag

There are lots of other settings you can adjust as needed

Moving to the content tab at the top

This is where you select the category or the individual articles that you want to display

Count is the total amount of items you want to show

With a grid this is less relevant unless you want the content change by being randomly sorted

below this input is the category and the individual articles you can select from

I'd suggest picking 3 articles to start with

If you click the articles and it doesn't load correctly - this is fixable and I can explain what is happening
