Issues with dropdown menus on Venture template

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I am using the latest version of the Venture template.

I have found some issues with the drop down menus within the Venture template, but only on Windows using Chrome or Firefox or Firefox on MacOS. It works fine on Windows with Internet Explorer, and fine with Chrome and Safari on a MacOS.

What happens is that the drop down appears and is to the left of where it is supposed to be.

It seriously only is happening on Chrome and Firefox on Windows, and Firefox on MacOS. Internet Explorer is fine. Chrome and Safari are fine on a Mac.

Anyone have thoughts on how I can fix this?

Do you have a link for the site?

Yes. Here it is:

It is not live yet, but is accessible.

On my Mac in Firefox, the issues happen in widths less than 1280px. Or at least right around there. I am running at a resolution of 1920x1080.

On Windows in both Chrome and Firefox the issues happen in widths less than 1280px. Or at least around there. On Windows I am running at a resolution of 1440x900.

On Mac it is fine in Chrome and Safari. On Windows it is fine in Internet Explorer.

Do you get the same if you alter the animation effect or remove it entirely?

Yes. I am using the latest version of the template, version 1.3.2. If I change or remove the animation effect, there is change. The menu dropdown is still to the left of where it is supposed to be.

Anything else I can try?

Hi there,
This is an issue with the offscreen detection in the template. I'll release a fix for this in this template in the next few days.
Thanks

I am not trying to rush your work on this fix, but I was wondering when you think you might have a fix ready for me to test? I just want to plan my work on this new website accordingly.

Thanks.

Just so you know I am fine with delays in getting this fixed. However since this is a show stopping bug preventing us from going live with the new website, some estimation on when I can expect the fix would help me set the expectations accordingly for my superiors.

Thanks.

Hi there,

So sorry for the delay.

Ive attached a version of the template that should fix this issue for you. The offscreen code now workds properly for the last item ont he page. The non-offscreen items should behave as per normal now.

The file thats changes is js/scripts.js. If you are using a compressed version of the js then you need to re-compress the js in the template settings to do this. I will release this in an update later today but I wanted to send this to you first to see if it also fixes your issue.

Thanks for your patience.

Thank you for the test package.

I replaced the js/scripts.js file, as you said that was the only file changed, and then I recompressed the js files.

It didn't help. Actually I am now seeing the problem in Chrome on my Mac and I wasn't seeing it there before.

Did I do something wrong replacing the file? Or should I have updated things differently?

Let me know your thoughts when you can.
