changing hight of slideshow possible?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Thought I'd give Venture a go for a new site.
I'd like to reduce the height of the slideshow from 460 to 200px. I uploaded narrower images (200px) but the slideshow defaults to 460px for all images in the folder.
Where can I change the height?

I found this in the instructions - which may be the solution to my question - but for the life of me I can't find it in the template:

"Go to style panel and set the banner height to desired height e.g. 300px"

Where exactly do I find the Style panel, and will this address the height of the slideshow? Perhaps the 'banner' is something else entirely?

Hi Nick,

Apologies for the delay.
I thought I had added this in the release but apparently not.

Are you able to test the attached zip? It's a complicated bit of js actually but pretty sure I have it covered.

Thanks!

I should mention you will need to re-compress your javascript and recompile less to css for this update.
Thanks

I seem to have a little problem now.
All I get is a grey screen (full-screen slideshow - but behind the grey).
When I resize the view, I can then see the backgound slideshow (full page). Refreshihng the page again brings up the grey screen.
The menu is there as per normal.
The remainder of the content is pushed down below the grey.
Just remind me, how do I control the height of the slideshow?

Sorry guys, I downloaded the latest version of the template and re-installed it and the above problem seems to have gone. (whew).
However, I'm still unclear on how to reduce the height of the slideshow.

Hi Nick,

It hasn't been added to the release yet.

It sounds like you didnt have the banner height set in the template with the other version - it needs to have the px value.

Let me know if adding that to the version attached fixes it.

Thanks

Are you attaching the version, or are you referring to the previous one?
From memory, I did have 460 which I think that may have been the default value. Did it need to have 460px (not just the number)

I reinstalled the previous one that you sent, and as soon as I changed the height from the default 640 to 300, I got the same issue (grey full screen)

I was just changing the default value (no 'px')
HOWEVER, when I added 'px', the magic happened.
Perhaps when you put out the next version, the default value carries a 'px'?
All great now. Many thanks.
Oh, one more thing - perhaps this should be another topic - but how do I add content to the Home page? I can see the 'Home' title, but have no idea how to get to it!

OK found it (Home). For others looking for it, it's the Home menu item. To be rid of 'Home' on the Home page, change the Page display to No for 'show page heading'.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the update regarding the height

Regarding Home - this is one of those things that crops up on virtually any build when working from a clean install - catches everybody out at some point :)

Hi,
I have the same question and read through the thread. I am using 1.2 version. Looks like I need to install the latest. However, my site is already set up and don't want to start from beginning again. Is there any way to update to the latest version keeping the same contents?

Hi

As with any big update its good practice to update - Akeeba backup core is a great option if not already using it (its free)

That said you should be fine updating to the latest version using the standard joomla installer - settings are protected
