zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

Used today for a test the new venture template in joomla 3.3.6. Unfortunately a I am not able to save or compile to less.Use chrome as a browser

- used the normal template with (zen) plugins enabled
- installed joomla 3.3.6 in sub directory
- uninstalled and installed a fresh copy

Anyone more has this issue? Don't have this behaviour with other templates

gr,

Bert

Hi Bert,

Is this locally or on a live host?

What happens when you try and save?

Thanks

Do you have admin tools installed? we've seen a few threads recently with issues over configuration settings on that extension

Paul,

it's on a live host. I don't use admin tools. When saving the template doesn't react. First impression it seems it has to do something the loading of the "template settings layar'

Ik will try the quick templat as well. I will give the outcome.

regards,

Bert

If you reduce the error reporting to none - does that work?

Are you able to change the theme style?
If so can you switch the template theme being used and see if that works?

Hi Paul,

sorry to get to you back so late. Did some testing:

-installled fresh joomla 3.3.6
-installed fres venture template v1.0
- disabled error reporting
- tried Firefox and Chrome

Result:
- able to change themes
- able to compile themes and create new themes
- some strange behaviour in a layout change . All elements are on setting not displayed. ( layout all_positions) Display works for for TOP, GRID2, GRID3, Main, GRID4, GRID6, BOTTOM
In all other Grids ( LOGO, TABS, Menu , ABOVE etc) layout blocks disappear after make "visable"

But also:
- unable to use normal save/ save & close buttons in joomla backend.( on top of screen) Only 'close' works. So you can't attach styles to menu's

Issue was caused by my CDN and the minify of java/ csss/html scripts.

I disabled the compressing of scripts and I am now able to change all settings in the template.

Hi Paul - I'm having similar problems that occurred after I installed Akeeba Admin tools. Could you let me know what settings I should tweak in Admin tools to allow the css/less to compile properly? Right now I can make changes through my custom css file, but cannot save any changes through the template admin. I had the same problem with Xero template a couple of weeks ago and finally figured out that it is probably Admin tools causing the problem. Thanks!

Ooops, sorry! Where is my brain? Anthony had already told me that I needed to allow access to templates php files and json, I think I can figure it out! Thanks.

Documentation added for admin tools setup with jb zgf4 a few days back, might help others.
