When I narrow the browser window the content of the main menu disappears. Is that a bug or a misconfiguration on my side?

The top bg image is stretching far to wide.

other problems:

The masonry does not seem to work correctly. There are empty spots.

The thumbs for the frontpage bg slide are hovering over the menu bar on scroll.

The social buttons disappear on scroll, therefore nobady can like the page after reading.

Are you referring to the slideshow image or the image in the article?

You need to adjust the navcollapse value in responsive settings in the template.

2. Top BG image stretching too wide. Do you mean too high? the bg image fills the entire bg area in this template.

3. Masonry gaps. Is that on this page: focus.surfingislife.de/index.php/extensions-overview/zentools/zentools-filter

Masonry is a vertical grid rather than a horizontal grid. This means that items aren't cleared and so the grid can look disorganised. Is that what you mean? You can see on the page above that the title of the first item means the first item is taller than the others and so it pushes items that would normally fall there out of the way.

4. Thats a z-index issue that Ive fixed locally. and will release in the next update.
Add
#slideshow-thumbs {z-index:1} to a custom.css file to fix that now.

5. Social icons stay fixed on the page for me. Which page do you mean?

1. That are still the default values from the quickstart, I did not touch any of those. how do I get the 3 horizontal bars into the main menu for smaller screens?

2. it does not fill the background, it fills way more: "height: 5652px; width: 1002px;" my browser window is ca. 800px high; the backstretch should fill the visible bg, not the html bg, especially when the grid rows have their own bg images

1. you can see the three bars in your screenshot. Click on that and the menu is displayed.

2. Thats the way it works in this theme at this stage.

You can add a min-height to the items there. eg
