Missing Search icon

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Ok this is going to sound silly, but I noticed I do not have the search icon showing in the Menu. I noticed about a week ago but just got back to that area again. I can't remember if it was there when I first started, or if I changed something that made it disappear. *headthunk*

If you click the area you get the expanding box (smaller), but ya....something is weird.

digitallitedesign.com/art_blog/index.php

Layout menu on the template is 9|3.

Hi Kat,

Looks alright

Noticed you don't have the itemid set - this controls where the search results are displayed

If you create a menu link with the search link type you can add the itemid to this input in the module settings and then you have a new results page rather than the home page

I raised a ticket for this and the problem is with the template/html/mod_search/default.php file which has somehow been set to another file. If you replace the file from the older version of the template it will fix your issue.

The support staff kindly provided me with the updated file when I raised the ticket.

Hope this helps anybody else with same issue.

JB are going to update the template at next opportunity. V1.3.6 is broken

Thanks! I had a family emergency and haven't had a chance to submit a ticket yet. Is there a way to get ahold of the fixed file yet?

Hi Paul,

I'm having issues with search as well. I've deleted the old mod_search and uploaded yours from this post, and problems remain on my site. I don't want to hijack this thread, so let me know f you want me to add to this conversation or start a new thread and delete this.

Thanks.

Dropping the files in from the zip below did in fact fix my missing Icon issue. Thank you !! (Sorry for the delay - major family stuff going on.)

Now, to figure out how to do the steps you listed in this post. LOL I'll get it figured out.

Thanks!

Which steps?

This bit?

If so let me know and I'll add a couple of screenshots

First you need to have a menu created which isn't set to display anywhere in the site

e.g with my sites I create a menu named hidden and it has no module created
