Description showing twice in Hika Product Pages

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

If you look at the following page you will see that the description is showing up twice:

apf.cloudaccess.net/dvd/individual/the-forgotten-dream

I see that it seems to be being displayed with two different div ids:
  1. hikashop_product_description_main_mini
  2. hikashop_product_description_main

I am wondering if you know how to turn OFF the display for hikashop_product_description_main_mini

I am also wondering if you know where I add "Specifications" to have something behind the Specifications button. This may be a question I should ask at Hika but I thought I would pose it here in case it has something to do with the template.

And Also, I have read that HikaShop breaks if a person uses JCE as their editor. So, I am sticking with TinyMCE. What I am wondering is if any of you have heard of a way to use the Read More functionality with TinyMCE since it seems there is no button to add a Read More link. I assume we can do it by editing the HTML but figure there must be a better way?

Thanks for a beautiful hikashop template.

Hi Sean,

Have you fixed this?

Can you point me to where you read about the issues with JCE and Hikashop?

Cheers

You can insert a readmore via insert but from memory you may need to change the mce editor via changing it to extended mode

So you would need to open it up via the plugin manager and chose editors and then select extended rather than advanced or simple

Hi Paul,

I have not found the solution to the problem with the duplicate text.

Also, I am not finding the forum post which made me think that JCE would break HikaShop. So, I am asking on their forum to see if there is a problem or not. In a way my preference is to just stick with TinyMCE even though I like JCE so much more just to keep the site light and fast. :-)

I will let you know what I hear from the HikaShop forum.

Thanks - you did see my post about extending MCE via the plugin manager?

Thanks Paul,

I did see your post and I had read on google of others saying the same idea. But, when I put TinyMCE into Extended mode and looked at all the options of which buttons to display there was still no button for Read More.

Interestingly one of the parameters in Hika Shop Configuration is Read More equals YES or NO. I set it to Yes. But, still not read more from either the HS config or from configuring MCE.

I will look at this again tomorrow when I am not too tired. :-)

Thanks, Sean

PS. I would still like to get rid of the duplicate text.

Hi Sean,

I think its a Hikashop setting which determines the read more etc.

Might be best to ask the Hikashop folk about how to do this. But I do recall the option int he global config.

Let us know what you find.

It ends up that there is no problem using JCE with HikaShop. It works just fine. I am not sure why somebody was saying in the forum there that there were problems. Anyhow, it is not so. JCE and HikaShop play nice together. :-)
