Slideshow image linking to article

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Okay...yet another newb question. I have scoured the documentation and although I have the slideshow itself figured out...for the life of me, I don't know how to get the article to come up as it does on the demo, even though I used quickstart to install the template (I may have hosed the links setup, but not sure). Basically, the way the demo works is if someone clicks the image during the slideshow, the article for that that particular image opens to a new page and displays the content. Guess what? I can't get mine to do that,

Dare I ask, how to I configure the link to open the article, and which of the three templates is used to display the same (and which position)?

I am stumped and have replicated the settings in the docs!! Help! (Please, of course!!)

Do you have menu links on the system pointing to the content used on the slideshow?

Paul,

When I select the current banner, it stays in the same page. I have a feeling it is supposed to open on one of the three quick start templates...but don't know where to add that, or assign it.

Thanks,
Daryl

P.S. I checked my local install to check the template out...same issue straight out of box...I THINK! I don't think I changed anything just altered one of the demos to use my graphic and text

Create a menu with the content in it either a category page or individual articles

I did that Paul....all set! I had figured this would be a workaround, but either way...it works!

P.S. Joomla 3.3.3 that you use for the quickstart sucks!! I am having issues with a number of modules and plugins that worked fine in 3.3.1. No, nothing on your end, it seems a lot of folks are having issues with 3.3.3...just posting this as an FYI!!

I think the menu issue is this

www.joomlabamboo.com/blog/how-to-joomla/implementing-a-fix-for-menu-item-ids-in-joomla

joomla when it doesn't have a link it reloads the home page which sounds like your issue

Thanks Paul, I will check out your post in a bit.

I did update to 3.3.6...didn't really change anything that is apparent. I am able to work around things, just is taking a bit more time than anticipated. Again, it had nothing to do with your products at all...just my funky setup. The only thing that is really hosed at this point is my RSForms....which means I either upgrade or get a new component for forms!

Ahhhh....life is Grrrrreat, t'isn't it?
