K2 User does not exist

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Paul,

found another issue in Lifestyle2 template I have no explanation for..

When I edit a existing K2 item coming with the quick start demo, a warning shows up saying user_id=819 not exist.

When I look at Components->K2->Users there is just one user listed here, and that is me, Superuser created during the installation of Lifestyle2. So that all makes sense for me.

But when I look with phpmyadmin at the database, I can see the 11 records for the table _k2_users.
As you can see in the attached pics.

Don't know what this means, are all _k2_users obsolete? Maybe this inconsistency can be responsible for problems?!

Thx Armand

Hi Armand,

Just moved this to a new thread to avoid confusion with your other question

Regarding k2 user does not exist - this is an issue with any quickstart installation with Joomla and k2

The user id is randomly generated on installation so it shows this warning as it doesn't match the original author id

To fix this you need to either change the user in the k2 item manually or in the database

I also should have mentioned with any new content created the error won't appear

Hi Paul,

that's what I did. I changed the user id manually in the database.
No problem.
But: Can I delete the 11 records in the _k2_user table without creating further problems?

Thx. Armand

I'm not quite clear what you are deleting

With the k2 items I would suggest creating new items rather than use the existing quickstart content unless it can't be avoided

Cheers
