Issue with theme config and calendar script

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi there,

I have installed and setup the LifeStyle2 template on my domain. I have been setting up the theme to suit my needs and have incorporated a booking calendar php script (bought from a 3rd party) which has loaded into the page but the date picker fields (which are crucial of course) are disabled. I have contacted the script vendor and they have highlighted that the bootstrap.css is disabling the elements that the calendar script requires. These I have enabled but it is still not working.
The vendor has offered to make changes to the script to enable it to work - but that is going to add time and cost to the build. So I wanted to see if changing the theme would be easier?

The page in question is www.cootandcountry.co.uk/joomla/ and the HBSChecker is in the grid1 position. The date picker fields are disabled. The vendor highlighted that line 1610 in the bootstrap.css was a culprit - this and the other associated elements have all been set to "enabled" but still it doesn't work. - Any help would be much appreciated.

I would also like to centre align this calendar checker - what is the best way to centre align it?

Thanks in advance. Adam.

Hi

This is one problem in the html

<input type="text" name="date_from" class="hbSelectorDatepick hbText hbDatepicker hasDatepicker valid" readonly="readonly" value="21-05-2015" data-dformat="dd-mm-yy" data-fday="1" id="dp1432121266087">

readonly - is this added by the component or by a setting?

input[type="text"][readonly] {
cursor: not-allowed;
background-color: #eeeeee;
}

Can you point me to how it should work and can you confirm it works as expected if a default Joomla template is used

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for the reply. I will try and apply a default template and see how it behaves.

The vendor has this site up up for demos - www.phpjabbers.com/hotels-booking-system/demo.php

So maybe you can find out from there what the behaviour should be. I will also check with the vendor re the html error you've picked up on.

Cheers, Adam.

Hi Paul,

I have used the protostar default theme and the date picker now works -

www.cootandcountry.co.uk/joomla/index.php/holidays#!/Search

So it does appear to be the theme. Any help with how to tweak the Lifestyle2 theme to enable the date picker would be appreciated.

Hi Adam,

Its not an error that I pointed out - just wondered if there was a setting :)

Looking at the demo that readonly is there as well

I'll check out the demo and your site

I have just applied the protostar theme to the holidays page and put the HBS script in the banner grid position as the layout was different between the themes.

HI Paul,

No worries and yes the text needs a colour change on that but that's a different script - not the one with the date picker - we're trialling two calendar type booking scripts to see which one suits best.

So basically, the HBSChecker script on
www.cootandcountry.co.uk/joomla/index.php/holidays
in the banner grid position with protostar default

is allowing the date picker to work - so that points to the LifeStyle2 theme disabling this function on that script. So any thoughts on what to change would be great. :)
