I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm selecting the theme i modified via thememagic however the theme isn't changing. I have a screenshot to see the backend.

You need to compile after any theme magic change - this changes the template css files to reflect the changes you made in theme magic and then save

If you load a new theme style you've not used before - change nothing in theme magic and then save
Does it still show the error?

I haven't touched anything serverside I for the most part just ran with the quickstart. I noticed I can change the default templates and it reflects the change with the error. However, it will not change to the changes made on thememagic

Did you have an index.html prior to uploading the quickstart?
