migrating from Joomla 2.5 to 3+ and Colourshift (original)

Hi Glenn,

I'd install after upgrading to Joomla 3

Are you using the Joomla update component? This will install a version not sure if it is 3.5 or 3.6 now

You won't be able to jump to the latest version which is 3.8.2

Prior to the latest release there was lot of problems even with 3.5 updates to 3.8

not sure about the upgrade component, if you think thats best then i will.(I downloaded this yesterday .. Joomla_3.5.1-Stable-Update_Package )
I thought i could use the joomla update and change the options to 'short term support' to get the updates but it isnt working for some reason. So do I need to do a manual install with the update or install it through extension manager?
thanks
glenn

When you say it isn't working

Are you not seeing the option for the J3 install?

Can you attach a screenshot of what you see?

Cheers

Have you tried renaming that folder \system\stats_old

With the 2.5.28 everything was up to date regarding database etc?

When a sites Joomla version is updated you need to check that the database matches the new updated version

Frequently it doesn't

It will tell you if the database version doesn't match and then you click the fix button and it updates

On a migration you will always need to check the database is up to date

On a migration it will sometimes take a long time to update

Cheers
