This update has been released today

When upgrading to 3.6.4 (and 3.6.3) we encountered an issue with the module [manager] in the backend. The module manager shows a white screen with a small dropdown box.

Resolved by clearing cache in browser - this issue has made its way onto the Joomla faq, so here is the link in case other experience the same.

The security update

The Joomla team released a patch for a serious security vulnerability affecting all Joomla versions from 3.4.4 and up. If you’re using one of these versions of Joomla, you’re encouraged to update immediately.

The vulnerability has a high severity as it allows anyone to create a user remotely and specify the desired group permission to it, including administrator.
