jTweet not loading my tweets

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi all, new member here.

I've enabled both the jb library plugin and jTweet module on my site and can't get my tweets to show up. The link is highdivehost.com/britpart/

I've made sure that both the plugin and module are enabled. I get the bird logo and "more info" text to appear but none of my tweets are showing. It's following my own account which is not protected. I'm assuming there is a jQuery conflict but am not sure how to check for that. This is a brand new install so no other modules or plugins should be loaded. Any ideas out there?

Thanks!

Wendell,

It looks like your jQuery slideshope is conflicting with jTweets (I don't see the slideshow jquery code with the 'no-conflict' command). Try unpublishing the slideshow and check your site again. Please make sure when you view your site that your Joomla & browser cache has been cleared.

Thanks for checking Ed. I disabled the slideshow plugin, made sure the jb library plugin was enabled and cleared cache from both joomla and my browser. Still no luck. Also, I was having this issue before loading the slideshow plugin.

Wendell,

I'm not the resident jQuery expert around these parts so I'll ask you to make a couple of adjustments within the JB Library pluging settings. if they don't work, I'll make sure 'smart people' see your post when I get back to my office later this evening (EST).

Within the plugin settings, try changing what jQuery version your requesting. According to your current source code, you are calling up jQuery 1.3.2. If you have not already attempted this step, do so and let me know either way what happens. If after this, jTweet still does not function for you I'll make sure your post is passed along. Unless another Mod steps in with a solution for you.

Hi Ed,

I tried changing to both version 1.2.6 and 1.4.2 with no luck. I also changed the jQuery source from local, to Google and back to local. Finally I made sure to clear cache on both the joomla cache and browser cache. Still no tweets showing up. Thanks for passing this on.

Its actually because jQuery isnt loading on your site. Is JB LIbrary published?

Hi Anthony,

I was afraid that might be the problem. As far as I can tell, the jb library plugin is enabled. Here's a screenshot from 5 minutes ago.

When you go into the plugin itself are there any parameters? If not then uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes it.

There are quite a few parameters listed. I tried to follow the documentation when choosing my parameters. Perhaps I should just uninstall and reinstall to see if that works.

That worked! The one parameter that is different after the reinstall is

"Enable Unique jQuery"

I had this on Yes, now I have it on No. Not sure if that's making a difference or if it was just the reinstall that did the trick but it seems to be up and running now. Thanks for your help!

Wendell,

I see tweets, I see tweets and they are on your site! Looks like my job here is done... So glad everything is working and playing nice with the slideshow also.

Hi there,

I just installed jTweet today. I'm trying on different joomla tweet plugins but I don't know why
none of my tweet streams appear.
I installed the JB Library plugin and already enabled it. Set No for the Unique JQuery script.
I've followed the steps from this topic.
But I still can't get this to work.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi. I';m having same issue. I installed JB Library, then the jTweets module but no luck. How can I tell what might be conflicting with jTweet? Stuck and not sure what info to provide to get your community help. Thanks for any guidance anyone can give me.

@mojoos where did you send it - via the ticket system?

@mtech just a link would be a good place to start.

Can't send a direct link as the staging site I am working on is password protected so can't share that. Ugh!

Perhaps this helps: New development: Under the "Scripts and Css Files" section of the module's settings page, when I switch the "Load jTweet Scripts?" drop-down menu to "Yes - Load in the body but not xhtml valid," the tweets show up. What does that mean? Downside?

Does that help narrow it down? Short of a link to the page, is there other info I should provide?

Many thanks in advance.

Could be a caching issue then, try disabling caching to see if that resolves it for you.
