Plugin broke the site

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I just install the JB Library plugin and now my site (www.petline.lv) is not working :

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/petlinel/public_html/media/plg_jblibrary/includes/defines.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/petlinel/public_html/plugins/system/jblibrary.php on line 23

What happens? And how can I fix it ? Please write for dummies :)

Can you please give a little more information:

- which joomla version
- which template are you using + version
- do you know what version of php do you have on your server?

Joomla 1.5.21 (I think, but not sure)
PHP 5.3.25

About template - I can't log intoo joomla admin and I don't remember about template. Can I see it from server side cpanel ? If I look on the file list, then I can see under templates 3folders - gk_eshop, petline.lv, system. Where should I look ?

I think you have used a JB Library version that not compatibel with or template or joomla version.

not sure for solution.

Maybe you can try to give in /plugin/system/ jblibrary temporaly to an other name. like _jblibrary to have the possibility to login the admin joomla.

Other wise you have to enter the sql database and disable

Hi,

Did you use the correct version of JB Library for Joomla 1.5?

To verify, please paste the JB Library package file name that you downloaded.

Hi,

jblibrary doesn't affect the administration area of the site, only the front-end.

How did you install the plugin, by ftp?

I can see your administrator page loading so I assume you can see it but cannot login?
That sounds like the authentication plugin is missing or another extension is affecting it.

Regards,

Rob

Can I suggest that you check the version of joomla you are using and upgrade the 1.5 version to 1.5.26 if not all ready installed

Thanks for the update

I checked versions - Joomla! 1.5.3
eShop.com - Dec 08 Joomla Template (for Joomla 1.5)

The only problem what I got is popup banner. It is active now and I can't remove it. If I disable popup plugin in joomla admin, then i can see banner in the middle of page.

Hi

Just to clarify I'm talking about the joomla core files version

I'm really hoping you don't mean the joomla version 1.5.3 from 2008?

As that is extremely old and extremely vulnerable to hacks as you are 23 versions behind an end of life release

If you can help me with update, then I can try to change it. It's web shop and I want to be sure that I will be able to do this and do not lost some data or functionality of page. Site was builded by other person, I just got it and learning how to manage it. I don't know how to make backups :)

Hi

Can I suggest looking at

docs.joomla.org/J1.5:Upgrading_1.5_from_an_existing_1.5x_version

I'd also suggest looking at where the template was purchased from

I will try to update in weekend.

I noticed one more problem - with articles - I wrote text with brakes, but in my page it's displayed as one big text together. ( www.petline.lv/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=33&Itemid=174 ) How to fix it ? If I go to html editor style, i can see alot of undefined, undefined..... If I delete all "undefined", it was not help, with the next save they are back.

I think given the age of the site and extensions it could be many issues

I'd suggest following the steps in that article and go from there

Do you have a white screen, an error code etc
