"read more" only when there is "more"...

Hi @all!

I stumbled upon this very nice module and it was love at first sight! :woohoo:

One little question which is bothering me, is that I would like to have the "read more" displayed, when there is really more to read. Somehow it makes little sense to me, showing "read more" on every question/answer, when there is nothing more to say.

The module itself and the plugin are working correctly as I can see from here.

I am a little stumped that this "problem" did not came up until now, probably I did not found the right thread and I would like to ask you, pointing me to it.

Tech specs:
- JB FAQ 1.1.2
- JB Library 1.0.11
- Joomla 1.5.18

What I already tried:
- Disable the "read more" at the Module = "read more" vanishes completely

A last word:
Sorry for my english, it is not my native language!

Hi there,

What exactly is it that you are trying to achieve?

ups... you are fast!

I would like to show the "read more" link, when there is more text, i.e. I really set a "read more" divider at the content. Otherwise I do not want to display it.

As for now, when I enabel "read more" at the module, it will display it on every "Content" text. This isn´t desired, as there are some questions (made at the "Title") with just a short answer, no more reading used.

Hope you understand my point :(

Gotcha,

In its current form I don't think that is possible. The module read-more is either on or off.

You could just create a 'read-more' link in the content item itself, where required, and disable read-more in the module.

Thanks for your appreciated help!

Funny, I tried this already, but it did not show the "read more" button at the content side... may be, that I have to complete something at the "Allowed Tags"?

Hmmm... I am sure, there is a way to do this! ;)

I actually meant creating your own custom "read-more" in the same way that you would create a normal link. The anchor text can still be 'read more...' of course.
