The rendering of the background image was not always perfect, but with the latest settings the image performance was reliable.

Your screen looks like the container was not filled up.

The settings are 'no rezising', and make 'fill the container'. The size of the background pic must be adjusted in photoshop or gimp or whatever you use for best background image performance.
