June Release - Elevate2 is coming

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Paul,

With the latest version of prettyBox and what sounds like your version of wallpaper you need to set the prettyBox option to no within the template admin itself. PrettyBox is loading the code for the prettyPhoto script already so i think thats where that error is coming from.

Hi Anthony-

I have set up the quickstart package of elevate2 on my local server and, now that i have specified my site's subfolder, i have captify content working, but only with the sample data. with my own sections and images (which are in images/stories with the sample section images) it doesn't work. any ideas? are the resizing params picky?

many thanks,

ft

Hi Felix,

Do the sections and categories have images assigned and content published to them. Are they at the top of the order in the section/category list?

Thanks Anthony

Hi Anthony-

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly!

The sections have images assigned and a test article published to every category but still I get nothing. My sections are first in order. I have not yet created menu items however. Is this necessary too?

Thanks again.

Hi Felix,

It shouldnt be necessary to create a menu item.

What happens when you unpublish the other sections? Do they show up then?

Have you also got the image assigned to the section in the correct folder? Short of getting a link not sure what else I can suggest.

Perhaps try pasting the output/source form the page here so I can see whats being produced.

Thanks Anthony

Scratch my last message-didn't work at first but (without doing anything different) now it does. Maybe the page didn't fully load at first....?

Anyway, Thanks!

Im beginning to wonder if there is a cache issue with the module.

Hi Anthony

I think I have the same problems as Felix!
I can view the images that are linked to sections and categories, but not when I use content! So I do enough wrong somewhere!

Must be assigned an image content and if so - how is that?

My page is here psphoto.dk

Thank you in advance for your help

Hi Per,

I just released an update for the captifyContent module - it had some hardcoded paths from the testing phase so v1.1.1 fixes that.

Hello,

I am having the same problem as described by Paul Hardy in comment #8893 above. PrettyBox is only showing the names of the pictures and not the pictures themselves. It is in a subfolder and I have the path as well as a trailing / in both the image directory and the subfolder paths.

It appears that PrettyBox is finding the correct file for I can change the folder and different picture titles will show. I have set the permissions to mod_prettyBox to 777. I have also emptied the cache. Still not showing the pictures.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hey Daniel,

do you have a link that we can try for this? If your base url is an IP address then you will not see the resized thumbnails because the resizing script cannot access the images even though the module sees the images. Let us know.

Cheers,
Jason.

Sure: newleafdata.com/a_snowmass/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=1&Itemid=20
If your base url is an IP address then you will not see the resized thumbnails because the resizing script cannot access the images even though the module sees the images.

Hmmm.... I'm afraid that I don't quite follow. Let me know if the link helps. I'm happy to send screenshots as well, if useful.

Thank you for your help.

Hey Daniel,

You can ignore the IP base url stuff. Does not apply to you.

From what I can see, you have set the subfolder to be
newleafdata.com/a_snowmass/
(correct me if I am wrong)

you only need
a_snowmass/

Also, your web host has configured your server well enough to only require 755 permissions on folders. So you'll need to change permissions on the imagecache folder in the directory
modules/mod_prettyBox/imagecache/
to 755

I believe that should cover it.
Let us know how it works out.

Cheers,
Jason.

Thanks Jason. Still having some problems:
From what I can see, you have set the subfolder to be newleafdata.com/a_snowmass/
(correct me if I am wrong)

you only need
a_snowmass/

You are correct. This is the value in the Image Directory (with a trailing /) cell: images/stories/monastery/

Is your site in a subfolder is set to Yes.

Subfolder (with a trailing /) cell is now the following: a_snowmass/ (changed from newleafdata.com/a_snowmass/ as per your last instruction).
Also, your web host has configured your server well enough to only require 755 permissions on folders. So you'll need to change permissions on the imagecache folder in the directory modules/mod_prettyBox/imagecache/ to 755

The directory imagecache was already set to 755. I had previously changed mod_prettyBox to 777 but I changed it back to 755.

Still no photos.

Did I miss a step somewhere?

Thanks.

Hey Daniel,

Looks like you've set it up properly. Sounds like a permissions issue to me.
It might be best to contact your host or look up their forums for similar issues.

This is the url that is failing

newleafdata.com/a_snowmass/modules/mod_prettyBox/image.php?width=150&height=150&cropratio=1:2&image=/a_snowmass/images/stories/monastery/mon_panoramic.jpg

The image.php script needs to write to the folder
modules/mod_prettyBox/imagecache/

They may have certain restrictions in place that are not obvious to us since the error messages are very generic. Helps to have access to the error logs.

Cheers,
Jason.

I just installed and set up the quickstart package for Elevate 2. I'm able to login to the admin and all the modules and sample content looks to be in place but when I click preview it either gives me the error message:

404 - Component not found

You may not be able to visit this page because of:

1. an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
2. a search engine that has an out-of-date listing for this site
3. a mistyped address
4. you have no access to this page
5. The requested resource was not found.
6. An error has occurred while processing your request.

Please try one of the following pages:

If difficulties persist, please contact the System Administrator of this site.

The only directory that's been deleted since the setup is the installation directory. See link > glowhouston.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1

PLEASE HELP ASAP! Thanks! :S

Hi Ann Marie,

There appears to be a problem with the main core of Joomla in this installation. It says the component is missing, so first thing to do is to reupload all files except the installation directory. Its likely something didn't get uploaded to the server the first time, and reuploading the files won't do any harm.

Hi Ann Marie,

Try recreating the menu item first to see if that fixes it.

www.glowhouston.com/joomla/index.php

I was editing the HTML and accidently deleted the wrong <div> when trying to delete the "very top panel".

When I tried to reupload the template file from my desktop to the server it kept the same settings. Not sure why. Can you please post the code for the index.php and where to paste it in doc or give other advice? Thanks!!!
