I'm trying to get the YooMaps module from YooTheme to work in the vision template without any luck.

YooMaps needs to have Mootools 1.1 for it to work.

Is MooTools something that is already installed with the Vision Template or do I need to intsall it?

Hi Brian,

Its more likely a clash with the Jquery script and mootools. You may need to find a jquery map option or if you arent using the superfish, slideshow or newsticker then you can remove the references to them in the index.php file.

Sorry, Anthony but you missed the question.

Is Mootools already installed and referenced with the Vision template?

I haven't tried installing Mootools yet because I wanted to make sure that it isn't already installed as part if the Vision template.

Ah ok ... no it hasnt.

Let me know if it works ok - if you are using J1.5 then it loads mootools by default anyway.

The best way to check is to view the source of the site and then just search for mootools.js.

Well, unfortunatly I cannot find anyway to get the YooMaps module to work with this template.

Interesting notes:
1) I can get YooMaps to work with 6 other random templates that I tried but not the Vision Template.
2) I tried removing the references to superfish, slideshow and newsticker (even though I need them) just to see if I could get it to work with no luck.
3) It appears that yoomaps is communicating with Googlemaps properly because of what I see in the source code on the page with the map but I still just get a blank map area and the error console reports the following error.

This is unfortunate because it looks like I'm going to have to give up my hope of using the vision template as it seems to have too many issues.

Hi Bryan,

The issue is just a basic conflict between mootools and Jquery. If you post some ftp and super admin details for Joomla in our ticket system then Ill take a look for you.

Actually Ive just found a Jquery way of integrating GMaps. Is it just a module that you are after?

Ive just thrown together a module that uses Google Maps and Works in the Vision template.

Ypu can set the height, width, starting point, have up to 3 markers and be used to find the directions to and from.

Its a first release so may need some work still - but thought I would put it out for you to take a look at. Its in the free extensions folder in the download area.

unfortunately, I'm going to need over 100 markers- Ideally these marker will be pulled from content categories. like yooMaps.

No problem ... I think it may take a bit more than a few hours to match the yootheme offering Certainly looks like a complex module.

I dont have a copy of it personally so Im not able to do any testing on it. If you have a live site somewhere I can take a look via ftp. Post a support ticket if you have a live site.
