TOPIC: Issues with Gallery Advert2 in IE

Issues with Gallery Advert2 in IE 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi Anthony

I just finished installing and setting up your gorgeous scroller template, but now I got one annoying problem:

Everything works fine in Firefox, but in IE the Gallery, that I place under ADVERT2 is completely out of place.

When you first load the page in IE, the gallery is located right in the main body, and not hidden, like it should be. It works flawlessly in Firefox.

Feel free to check it out

the URL is
http://www.aztectours.co.nz

thank you,

Gordon

PS: How would I get my site to do the same as your demo in regards to the template chooser for advert1?

The integrated jommla template chooser does not seem to work when i put it in advert1?

Hi Gordon,

Thats a pretty strange issue Its one of those ones that requires a bit of trial and error unfortunately.

I would try changing the position attribute in the hover box css as well as the z-index.

If you would like me to take a look at it just email me some ftp details and Ill see what I can do.

Thanks Anthony.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for the email.

I just checked the issue out and it has to do with referencing the css file twice.

If you place the script references in the head of the template (which I recommend) then you should choose no to have the module do it in the module admin.

That should clear it up

Anthony.

huh? I am not following at all lol sorry

is there any chance you can just fix it via the ftp account that I gave you?

also, what font did you use for the side tabs in THEMES and Gallery?

And, last but not least, where would I be able to get the template chooser that you use on the demo site?

Sure no problem,

Can you send me some super admin details and Ill set it up for you.

I used arial

The template chooser is actually just a group of images with a link attached that looks like this:

Code:

index.php?jos_change_template=mytemplatename
You could actually use hoverbox for this. Thanks Anthony

Such an easy fix but took a while.

I just removed the position attribute in the hoverbox css. IE7 is happy now

thank you so much

I just annointed you as my personal hero hehe

just one last tiny question:

you may have noticed that i only used 13 instead of the available 18 picture slots

the problem is:

now those 5 empty slots show still up as empty frames with a red x in it....how do i get rid of those 5 empty frames?

oh and the gallery previews show up in the top left corner, rather than next to the other pictures?(works fine in Firefox)

Just choose the unpublish option in the dropdown list for those you dont want to publish.

Thanks Anthony.
