TOPIC: Vision template

Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6285

Hi

I have installed Vision template and have som problems
The CSS template, javascript and images are not loaded
Is this really the same Quick-Pack as the demo on bamboo??
I can pay 149 for an installation, this is not a problem,
the problem is why the pack have different loadings.

- I tought this was a time-saving quick-pack, sorry!
Here we probably can work in eternity...

Best Regards

Re:Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6287

Hi Nicklas,

I just downloaded and tested the install here and its working fine.

One issue that can occur in Joomla is file permissions. So if the template looks all messed up try viewing the source, copy the url to the template_css.css file and then pasting it in your browser. If the file wont load then you will need to change the permissions.

Folder permissions should be 755, whil efile permissions 644.

Have you got a link?

Thanks Anthony

Ji Nicklas,

Sorry the template seems to be loaded fine. You are right though the quickstart for v1.5 isnt the same as the one for 1.0 in this case.

You have a few articles missing and the images for the slideshow are not the same. On the whole its the same - however the template functions as per the demo.

Is this the issue or is there another one?

Re:Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6305

There are two:

JB Vision Quick Start Package J10 v2.04
Joomla 1.0 obvilously an outdated version

Vision Quickstart J15 v2
Joomla 1.5 Current Version

Second question:

You'll have to be more specific Nicklas - it looks fine for me.

Re:Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6308

It looks good on Mac, accept the flash news who is slowly and also have images, this is not available in your demo version..

Its more damage in Internet Explorer, here is the menu out of bounds a couples of pixel at the bottom of the buttons, also the Flickr has flipped out if we compare to your demo.

NOTE!! Package J10 v2.04 its not the same as in your demoversion, the menu are not the same

At least, I really dont understand why you offer other templates than the demoversion?
Hope I have been moore specific on my template

Best Regards

Re:Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6309

Hi Nicklas,

The Vision template Quickstart package is not exactly the same as what you see on the demo but I think its close enough for you to create your own site from what you get in the quickstart. Around the time of Vision - or just after - I changed the workflow for creating the quickstarts so that from then on the packages are almost identical to the demo site. The main difference being the use of stockphotographs which I am not licensed to distribute.

Im not sure that you should really install the J1.0 quickstart package since Joomla 1.0 is a seriously outdated version of Joomla. Im undecided whether I will continue making the quickstarts available for Joomla 1.0 after the end of life for Joomla 1.0 in the next few months. The templates will of course still be available.

The flickr issue is due to the quickstart package not being updated to the latest version for this module. So the issue you see there will be solved with installing the v1.0.3 version of the module. Ill update the package to 1.5.10 tomorrow and add the update to the flickr module to fix this as well.

At least, I really dont understand why you offer other templates than the demoversion?

The templates are the same but the quickstarts have these minor differences. The display on the slideshow is odd and doesnt occur in the J1.5 version of the package.

Im heading off for the night now - its late here - but Tom will pick it up after this or Ill check in in the morning. Please let us know how you get on.

Cheers Anthony.

Re:Vision 2.0 template Favicon 4 years, 1 month ago #6405

How can I make my favicon appear? I've overwritten the one in the root directory of the template. Is there something else I should do?

Re:Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6407

Hi Ken,

You need to overwrite the favicon in the root directory of the template that is used.

Thanks,
Tom

Re:Vision template 4 years, 1 month ago #6412

Hi Ken,

If you really overwrote it, it is done. But most of the time you don't see it right away, because browsers cache these icons very stubbornly. Clear your cache and restart your browser. I think it will then be fine.

Let me know, otherwise I will have a look myself.

Thanks,
Tom
