TOPIC: How to set uo captify?

How to set uo captify? 1 year, 8 months ago #31986

Hey there!

I have some problems to set up the captify content.
First there is something to say about what I want to manage:
I use phoca gallery and I want to display the first pic of it on my frontpage like in grid2!

Now my first question:
Can I use the captify with phoca?

The thing is, I dont want to use K2 cause it is to huge for me. I like the phoca, I need for my photographers page!

Greetings
Ulrike

If the image you want to use is the first one in a Joomla article, then yes, you can use i with captify.

I have never used Phoca though. Is it used in a Joomla article?

It is the first picture but I think it doesn't work with phoca.
In phoca you can create categories by itself...in these category you can write a discription and set Pics. The you can add photographs with a very nice gallery layout.

Ah, ok, so Phoca does not use standard Joomla categories and articles? In that case, no, captify will not work with Phoca.

Sorry, but can't display pics

Whant to use Pics from K2 category.

Which position do I have to use?

Dont know where to set in the K2:

If you are using the module to reference K2 content items then you have the choice to display the first image in the K2 item or to display the image stored in the K2 item image field. This is set in the k2 options at the bottom of the module parameters.

You cannot display the pictures set for a K2 category, only K2 items. You can display images set for Joomla sections/categories, but not K2.

Okay, now I create joomla Category with a Pic but the same happens...nothing!
Do you have a tutorial for the setting captify module which I can understand?

Greetings from a really unhappy Ulrike

Re: How to set uo captify? 1 year, 8 months ago #32530

I am really weird because I can't understand why it is not possible to display pics from a K2 Category??????

Re: How to set uo captify? 1 year, 8 months ago #32536

Hi Ulrike,

Sorry I obviously had a bit of a brain-melt the last post, it is possible to use the images assigned to K2 categories.

Sorry to hear that you are still struggling with this. If you create a support ticket with login details, I would be happy to take a look for you.

Re: How to set uo captify? 1 year, 8 months ago #32620

Hi Ulrike,

Its all fixed now.

Two things:
1. If you are using the category image then you need to upload the image to category. You had it in the intro text but the correct way to assign an image to the category is to click on the image tab when editing the category and then uoploading the image there.

2. Then you had category and articles set to display. Ive changed it to just show categories int he k2 source and its worked.

Let us know how you get on from there.

Okay, so far so good...sometimes it is too easy to understand... now this works but not that good I want to:

Which position do I have to set the captify module? Is is the advert1 or which one do I have to use?

Ulrike

Re: How to set uo captify? 1 year, 8 months ago #32632

If I use advert1 it is displayed but there is a grafical error on frontpage....

Hi Ulrike,

Can you share a link with us? I can't see the ticket you created previously.
