TOPIC: Captify Content won't load images

Captify Content won't load images 1 year, 9 months ago #31007

Hi,

I'm using Captify Content to display K2 articles from a specific category. The links and titles display fine but the images don't display. Here's a screen cap of what happens: imageplay.net/view/m7Gbd81149/Captify_Error

Any idea what this problem could be and how to fix it? Thanks very much for your time!

Sorry again Anthony,

Here's the link to the actual page: www.samwelsdesigns.com/

I think I should point out that I've already made sure that the two K2 articles I'm listing have images assigned to them.

Thanks very much for your help!

Re: Captify Content won't load images 1 year, 9 months ago #31049

The image resize script cannot run, I suspect because it does not have the correct permissions to do so. It throws a 500 error:

www.samwelsdesigns.com/modules/mod_captifyContent/image.php

You need to check and correct the permissions on that folder. If it is 777, switch it to 755. If it is 755 already then you really need to speak with your host (unless you have shell access and know how to chmod).

Ideally, all folders should be 755 and files 644. And they should be owned by a user that has RWX permisisons. If none of this means anything to you, you should have a word with your host and have them fix the permissions. A fix should not involve setting them to 777.

As I heard earlier this week:

"Friends don't let friends chmod 777"

Cheers Alan,

Making sure all my folders were 755 and all my files were 644 did the trick. Thanks very much to the both of you for your time and help.

I have more or less the same problem...

On my notebook I can see the pictures, but when I go online, I don't see nothing.

I would like to show some articles, and Captify catch the first image in the article(butnot in the online version).

I try many permissions, now I have all the directories with 755 and all the files with 644, but no images in the page

this is the link

Hi abicio,

Is joomla installed in the subdirectory projects? or is that part of the sef URL?

The image is at:
www.archequipe.com/images/Progetti/progettoF/1.jpg

But the module is trying to retrieve it from:
www.archequipe.com/projects/images/Progetti/progettoF/1.jpg

Joomla is installed in the root what do you mean with "is that part of the sef URL?"

From the image address, he module seems trying to load
www.archequipe.com/modules/mod_captifyCo...etti/progettoE/1.jpg

and if I place the address /images/Progetti/progettoE/1.jpg after the root domain, the image is shown... and it is the correct image in the article :

Hi there,

The fact that even the image script itself cannot be reached indicates a configuration issue with your server:

www.archequipe.com/modules/mod_captifyContent/image.php?

Do you have a restrictive .htaccess file perhaps that is dissallowing access to the script? Please also check what version of PHP is running on the server (Joomla admin > help > system info >).

Re: Captify Content won't load images 1 year, 6 months ago #37328

I use the .htaccess of Joomla, but on my laptop I don't have any problem, I have this problemi only in the online version...

PHP Version 5.2.14

maybe you can tell me which library should be installed and I can check if they are enabled...

thank you very much

Re: Captify Content won't load images 1 year, 6 months ago #37353

Hi there,

Looks like the same permission issue as the earlier poster. Do you have any of the folders set to 777? This will generally trigger the error. Best to have all folders 755 and files 644.

Thanks Anthony
