Trying to install Bamboo News (September 2007) 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello,
I have several problems with this fine Bamboo News template and wanted to install the quick start to look up some things. But it doesn't work. SQL-
Error. The error-message is very long so I post it below.
I have no idea what has to be done, so I ask for some help.

Maybe my system information is helpful:

Hi Thomas,

Are you using v2 of the quick start. We updated it last night so if you downloaded before then (less than 12 hours ago) then it will be best to use that.

Let me know if you find the same issue with this one. Here is a link to the tutorial for the quick start packages.

Thanks Anthony

Hi Anthony,
yes I already used v2. But to be sure, I downloaded the quick start this morning again. Hope we are talking about the same "Sept 07 - Bamboo News-template", cause the files in the download area there were updated last on May 5th (as the date says).
Ok, I downloaded it and started the installation again (clean directoy, clean database). But nothing changed, same error message.
Then I tried the sql-file in the download section, but nothing changed again.

Any ideas?

Best regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I just installed the package again locally and it worked fine for me. The files should be the updated version and its OK that the date hasnt changed as I just updated them via ftp rather than through docman.

Ive attached the sql database I used for you to try. Might be an issue with the version of php you are using - what version are you using on the server?

Thanks Anthony

Hi Anthony,

no does not work, sorry, same error massage. It starts with "SQL=You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near \'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=3\' at line 19 SQL=CREATE TABLE `jos_banner` (\n `bid` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,\n `cid` i..."

Unfortunately it's not my server. I rented a managed server.
The installed version are:
MySQL-Database Version: 4.0.27-standard
PHP Version: 4.4.8
Web Server: Apache/1.3.34 Ben-SSL/1.55
WebServer to PHP interface: cgi

I'm not allowed (and not able) to change or update these. (I already asked for an update in another case, but they are not willing to update.)

I have about 10 Joomla-Installations on this server, and everything works fine, till now.
Hope you have another idea.

Best regards
Thomas
